The Community will Celebrate Local Investors Who Fostered Grant County's Economic Upswing

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Grant County Celebrates Local Investors Who Fostered Grant County's Economic Upswing

MARION, INDIANA, Tuesday, February 26th, 2020 – 64 local businesses will be celebrated for their contribution to Grant County’s economy at the annual Investor’s Appreciation Awards. Each year, the Grant County Economic Growth Council and STAR Financial Bank host an Investor Appreciation Awards to thank, honor, and celebrate businesses that invested at least $25,000 into Grant County’s economy over the past year. Over twenty years of hosting this event, the Growth Council and STAR have honored over 2.7 billion dollars of total investment in Grant County!

Grant County witnessed an 11.7% GDP increase in 2019 (according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis), and this economic growth could not have occurred without the investments made by all 64 of these local businesses. Wiley Metal, for example, invested in Grant County in 2019 by constructing a new building, purchasing a new press brake, and providing advanced the professional development of forty individuals in partnership with Purdue University. While local businesses like Wiley Metal strive to strengthen their business ventures, they also support Grant County’s overall economic flourishing.

At the 2020 Investor’s Appreciation Luncheon, each honoree will receive an award, show pictures of their investment, and have the opportunity to talk about their company’s new projects and progress.

“It is exciting to honor our local business partners. Every business’ hard work has positively impacted Grant County, as seen in the county’s steep GDP increase.” Brett Carey, the Market President of STAR Financial Bank, comments on the event.

The public is encouraged to celebrate Grant County’s local businesses at the Investor Appreciation Awards on March 10, 2020 at 11:30am. Cost is $20 per attendee.
