Marion Health announces new campus near I-69
New campus will include 100,000 square foot building with ER, orthopedic offerings
Marion, Ind. (Nov. 18, 2021) – Marion Health is excited to announce the development of a new innovation and medical campus in southeastern Grant County. The master site development plan will comprise of approximately 100 acres in the northeast corner of I-69 and State Road 22.
The campus development will include new acute-care and ambulatory services to provide orthopedic/spine services for surgery, rehabilitation and outpatient clinic, family practice medicine outpatient clinic, multi-specialty outpatient clinic, emergency services with helipad, radiology, laboratory, inpatient acute care and flexibility for future expansion.
Stephanie Hilton-Siebert, CEO and President of Marion Health, said “Marion Health is honored to serve such a large community. This expansion will bring convenient, state of the art care to our community in the southeastern region of Grant County.”
The vision for the campus is reflective of the booming industrial heritage of the Grant County area and inspired by the healing elements of the natural world. The campus design celebrates the shared existence of industry and life in all its forms. An easily accessible, patient-centered, advanced technology and hospitality-like environment has been developed with the utmost convenience to patients, providers, and staff.
There’s an opportunity to demonstrate Grant County’s excellence to those passing through on I-69 as well. “There’s a stretch of 93 miles on I-69 where there are no convenient options for emergency services,” Hilton-Siebert said, “This campus will meet the need for convenient, accessible care for both travelers and our community in southeastern Grant County.”
The build will be a 4-story 100,000 square foot facility as depicted in the exterior rendering included. The first phase will create approximately 100 new jobs and enrich the community development of southeast Grant County. The total project investment is planned to be $80 million.
The campus will maintain all existing hospital-owned buildings and integrate their future use into the campus. Construction has already started and the facility will be operational in 2022. The project planning, design, and project management are performed by BSA LifeStructures, a national, integrated design firm based out of Indianapolis, experiences in creating new hospital campuses and orthopedic facilities.
