Café Valley Demonstrates Growth as it Increases Production and Promotes Staff

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Café Valley Demonstrates Growth as it Increases Production and Promotes Staff

MARION, INDIANA, Thursday, October 10th 2019 – Café Valley’s economic prospects continue to grow as it increases production efficiency and fosters talent within its internal employee culture.  The Grant County Economic Growth Council and Mayor Alumbaugh visited Café Valley in Marion, IN. We are thrilled to note the bakery’s incredible progress under the leadership of Paul Dash  (General Manager) and hundreds of employees working daily to produce quality products. Café Valley creates an efficient and positive work environment across all areas of the plant as they deliver specialty muffins, cakes, and croissants to grocers and retailers nationwide.

Café Valley’s baked goods reach an unparalleled level of excellence. In the past few years, Café Valley’s leadership team has implemented meticulous quality control measures to ensure that each product sold pleases the customer. For example, a quality focus team tests the taste and texture of their products daily.  Furthermore, workers weigh and measure the products to ensure the uniformity of the products, ensuring a perfect muffin, cake, or croissant reaches the customer every time.  These new quality control measures yield great results.  Two years ago, the plant wasted nearly ten percent of its baked goods while in production.  Today, Café Valley only discards four percent of its product.  Therefore, its improved quality control measures not only serve Café Valley’s customers well but also earn shareholders higher profits.

Café Valley’s facilitates greatness among its hard-working staff as well. Recently, Café Valley promoted several employees from the factory floor to management-level positions. The new management team cultivates a positive culture and also works to maintain quality control throughout the plant. Café Valley’s internal promotion scheme provides a fantastic opportunity for employees to work their way up to management-level positions, earn new training, and learn new skills. For example, Maurice began working on the floor at Café Valley a few years ago. The leadership team recognized his hard work and promoted him to several various positions. Now he is a line supervisor in training! Maurice, like many other staff members, feel proud of their work at Café Valley as they gain new skills every day at work.

The Grant County Economic Growth Council is thrilled with Café Valley’s work here in Marion. Café Valley employs 525 local residents, and as the quality of its product continues to soar, it hopes to increase its production and create more jobs for Grant County. We feel proud to witness Café Valley’s progress and look forward to continuing to partner with them in the future as they continue to represent Marion well.
