Wednesday, March 7, 2018 (Marion, IN) – At 8:00am this morning, the Grant County Economic Growth Council awarded the first cycle of The CHARM Grant to Creech Farm’s Country Café and Bakery. The grant was awarded during BYOC², a low-key, inclusive Grant County networking event that occurs at Abbey Coffee Co. the first Wednesday of every month from 7am to 9am.

Owner of Country Café and Bakery, Rachael Creech, accepted The CHARM Grant award before the BYOC² crowd. Creech shared how The CHARM Grant money will go towards providing more visible signage to their lot and building. “It has come to our attention that our business has suffered due to lack of current signage,” Creech explained, “and we want to change our visibility to the downtown Marion area.”

Creech further expressed her steadfast commitment to staying present in downtown Marion. “Though we have outgrown our current space,” Creech shares, “we are going to stay in our building because of its location in downtown Marion and hopefully seek an expansion.” Additionally, they hope to install a deck alongside their building as well as clean up the hill overlooking the Mississinewa River.

Mayor Jess Alumbaugh assisted in presenting The CHARM Grant award. “I am thrilled to see The CHARM Grant bring very tangible impact to downtown spaces, not only in Marion but throughout the rest of Grant County,” he expressed.
