The 2017 Business Climate Survey results are in! As part of the Growth Council’s mission to facilitate investment and reinvestment for job retention and creation, the Growth Council puts out a Business Climate Survey every few years. This survey is meant to gauge the current trends and perceptions among the business community. After distributing the survey to over 200 Grant County businesses, the Growth Council received 60 responses. Questions in the survey range from topics such as ease of starting a business, current financial stability, employment, and ways businesses would like the Growth Council to offer business assistance.
The 2017 results show a majority of positive views on the current states and future prospects for the individual businesses. The majority responded that they would recommend starting a business in Grant County and that there is a great deal of support for small business owners in the area. As far as assistance from the Growth Council, the most popular responses had to do with training and marketing planning.
The Growth Council has been conducting these surveys since 2005 and uses the results to help shape local business assistance efforts. Surveys are conducted every two to three years.
